Kate is the Director of Residential Services at Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments (SAVE). Joining SAVE in 1997 as the Children’s Counselor, Kate currently oversees the emergency shelter program, the hotline and the COPS program. Her work in the domestic violence field began in 1992 when she volunteered at a domestic violence shelter as a student at Humboldt State University. There she realized the critical importance of the move to end violence against women and since then has only increased her commitment to the field.
Kate is a single mom of the most amazing nine year-old son. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with him, gardening, and making jewelry.
