Michelle Coleman has worked in the nonprofit arena for over 20 years; she has a long history of working with community organizations, from small local grassroots agencies to large national organizations such as GOODWILL Industries, always working to help the most vulnerable populations. Coleman’s passion for children and a desire to assure that all children have the opportunity to thrive is a driving force in her life. She has worked in program development and program management, as well in program funding. She currently serves as the Executive Director of PEACE for Families (PEACE), in Placer County, which provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Coleman has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and completed course work for Nonprofit Management Master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. In her “spare time,” Michelle loves to read poetry and nonfiction, take long walks and travel with her partner Francois.
