Amie McClane is the Shelter Manager for the YWCA Silicon Valley, Support Network Program. In her current role, Amie enjoys working directly with domestic violence survivors, supervising and supporting staff, and creating a flexible and trauma-informed culture. She has a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences (with an emphasis in Family Studies) and a M.A. in Holistic Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Amie is working on completing her hours for Marriage and Family Therapy licensure. She is an MFT Intern at the YWCA and provides clinical therapy services to domestic violence survivors and their families in both individual and group settings. She has over seven years’ experience working in the domestic violence field as an advocate, case manager, therapy intern and now manager. Amie is an active member of the Santa Clara County Domestic Violence Advisory Council’s Shelter Standards Committee and is a voting member on the Santa Clara County Collaborative on Affordable Housing and Homeless Issues.
Amie has a passion for working with individuals and systems to create change, ultimately leading to a more empowered community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her partner and friends, traveling to visit her family, reading, and creating art.
