As the Executive Director of WEAVE, Beth Hassett leads a team of advocates, counselors, educators and volunteers with the common goal of ending domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in the community. For over twenty years, Hassett has worked for non-profit organizations as a volunteer and staff member to improve the quality of life in the Sacramento Region and beyond. She has held senior management positions at the Mercy Foundation, MajorGiving.com and Capital Public Radio.
Hassett received the 2011 Director’s Community Leadership Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recognition of her work in leading WEAVE’s violence education, intervention and prevention efforts. She was named the Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2008 by the Sacramento Public Relations Association and the 2004 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In December 2010, she was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the statewide Domestic Violence Advisory Council. An active community volunteer, she currently serves as a Commissioner on the First Five Sacramento Commission, President of the Planned Giving Forum of Sacramento, Treasurer of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA), Vice President of the Midtown Business Association, a member of the Continuum of Care Advisory Board, President of the board of the ALS Association of Greater Sacramento and representative to the ALS Association National Board of Representatives. She is a frequent local, regional and national presenter on the topics of fundraising, marketing, non-profit management, violence prevention and intervention.
