Jennifer Lake is the Director of Operations for the YWCA Sonoma County. For over 30 years, the YWCA has operated the county’s only safe and confidential shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. The YWCA also operates A Special Place Therapeutic Preschool where children who are witnessing domestic violence receive quality pre-school education as well as professional therapy to address the issues of trauma in their young lives.
Lake joined the YWCA Sonoma County in 1996 with 16 years of non-profit leadership experience concentrating on the area of domestic violence and homelessness. Since 1996, Jennifer has designed and implemented programs to support long term success for victims. Recognized as a best practice in housing support, she created the Adobe Project which helps victims of domestic violence secure stable housing and support. As Family Justice Center Sonoma County Program Taskforce Chair, Lake worked with several community stakeholders and partners to create program services at the Family Justice Center in Sonoma County, which were implemented in April 2010.
Jennifer’s recent work includes the development of new strategic partnerships that support increased capacity for meeting the therapeutic needs of victims of domestic violence and their children across the county.
