Teresa Yu, MFTI, is a Mental Health Services Act Program Manager at Community Behavioral Health Services in San Francisco, focusing on improving service access for transition-age youth.
She previously worked for the City of San Jose providing therapeutic services and supporting operations and administration at a community center setting for individuals with chronic mental health issues. She has also worked with at-risk teens and medically frail seniors, and has specialized in art and music therapies. For 10 years, she managed a domestic violence services program focusing on Asian immigrant populations at Asian Americans for Community Involvement in San Jose. She has an MA in Counseling and Expressive Art Therapies from the California Institute for Integral Studies, an MA in Theology: Social Ethics, where she focused her research on the impact of atonement theologies on domestic violence victims, and a BA from UC Berkeley.
She is passionate about supporting underserved populations.
